No. 9 Michigan State (11-1, 7-1 Big Ten) will face No. 16 Alabama (9-3, 5-3 SEC) in the Capital One Bowl on Jan. 1. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Citrus Bowl.
Alabama coach Nick Saban and Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio visited Orlando Thursday to promote the bowl game.
Both talked about the game.
Dantonio: ‘We’re very, very excited about being here. It’s an outstanding challenge for us, they’ve lost 2 of their 3 games by 4 points so they are a BCS team just like we are. So I look at as an opportunity to play a great program, continue to establish our culture and continue to take steps towards national prominence.”
Saban: “It’s great to be back here. I think its a great opportunity for our team and our entire organization is really excited to be back here in the Capital One Bowl.”
